This weeks Bob Dylan Friday has got a theme! Yay. The theme is: “Songs That Were Never Properly Recorded and It’s a S-H-A-M-E”.
One Too Many Mornings (Genuine Live 1966, Disc 2)
Performed live in 1966 many, many times as an electric song and it was never properly realized in the studio this way obviously, and that’s a shame.
Who Killed Davey Moore? (Bootleg Series, Volume 1)
One of Bob’s cleverest songs (is that possible to say?) with a really catchy rhyming scheme and, well, in depth it’s quite an interesting song.
Tell Me, Momma (Genuine Live 1966, Disc 2)
Pure, pure shame. This song is my favorite song right now.
I Don’t Believe You (She Acts Like We Have Never Met) (Genuine Live 1966, Disc 5)
I want to hear a studio version of this song electric. It’s one of my favorite songs of all time. It’s so amazing.
Positively Van Gogh
This is … well, a very good song recorded very poorly.
I’ll Keep It With Mine
This song was given to Nico and that’s a win and a shame all at once.
