Bob Dylan. In A. Tree. !!!!.

I’m picking this bootleg for this week because I think it’s really excellent – I mean it’s Dylan and the Hawks. I think its scientifically, artistically, spiritually impossible for that compination to go wrong, no? This is a compilation of recordings from the ’65 tour of England which is probably one of the greatest tours to ever happen ever in the history of tours/humans. The ‘Like A Rolling Stone’ recording is the famous Manchester Free Trade Hall incident…. where some guy says “Judas!” and (some people leave this part out but it’s what makes it god damned sassy) then the same heckler says “I’m never going to listen to you again!” and then Bob says, “I don’t believe you. You’re a liar.” and the performance is just like…. so joyful. I dunno, these songs … especially the ones on this bootleg and just the way they sound (THIN WILD MERCURY MUSIC ANYONE?) are some of the greatest sounds I’ve ever heard.
