What do you do when you’re 22 and bored in Nashville, TN? (Ed. note: I can’t confirm or deny Caitlin Rose’s boredom, but its Tennessee for godsakes!) According to Caitlin Rose you sit down and write an EP filled with hilarious, tongue-in-cheek, simple (in the kind way) songs that shine a pretty big spotlight on your fucking amazing voice, apparently. Or that’s what this girl decided to do anyway. I urge you not to be afraid of her label as country music because these songs are really great, I mean the girl’s EP is called ‘Dead Flowers’. Yep, the Rolling Stones song (and accompanying AMAZING cover) is the name of her first EP. That alone takes balls. But this girl has so much quirk and charm and sings these awesome songs in a sweet-as-hell-voice about drinkin’ and smokin’ and shotgun weddings being real love. God damn! I think I am in love.
