It’s no secret that I spent some of my youthful years in Fort Worth, Texas with it’s close proximity to Denton. I’ve known for quite some time that there’s some cool shit going down in Denton (all those damn art school kids!) but this band, Fergus & Geronimo, slipped mostly under my radar. I think I remember a cool compilation with fellow Dentonites, The Uptown Bums, that featured them. Anyway, GvsB and Transparent are peddling this golden track around and I couldn’t help but take notice. Transparent calls it ‘the most charming homage to macking’ which it totally fucking is – but it’s a little sunny, a little country, a little lo-fi, a lot catchy and just really fun. I’m digging this way much, not only because it’s a love song to someone far away, but it’s to do with my second home (disclosure: I don’t like British accents on girls – I’m a hater) so I naturally love it even more.
These dudes are also heading over to London to play the following show (promoted by Transparent!):
July 20th, 2010 @ Madame Jo Jos (Brewer Street, London)
