introducing :: the young sinclairs

Fresh off some dates with the Brian Jonestown Massacre, we bring to you the Young Sinclairs. They’re another band from Virginia (what’s with it? They’ve got Eternal Summers and The Invisible Hand, too!) on the most excellent Funny/Not Funny Records who we’re getting pretty smitten with. We’ve gotten a hold of a couple of tracks they’ve done and god, damn, am I in love. Have you ever looked around and said, “I need more music that would fit perfectly in a Wes Anderson/Noah Baumbach movie?” If you have, the Young Sinclairs are perfect for you. They’ve got that 60s groovy feel, the jangly bits, and the Beatles influence (I had to go there to do them justice) which melds into some perfectly beautiful songs to narrate the flying away of your bird, Mordecai, or to help you deal with being in love with your sister, or any other twisted moment in The Royal Tennenbaums. Either way, Anderson approved or not, The Young Sinclairs are what is going on right now – a perfect indication of the awesome scene building over in Virginia. Check them out immediately.

The Young Sinclairs ‘O Bummer’ Cassette has sold out, sadly for you, but you can pick up their Chimneys LP (limited release, y’all!) here.

    The Young Sinclairs and Eternal Summers actually share a member and both bands are part of the Magic Twig Community.
