Ugh. I think I’m going to have to stop calling Canada ‘America’s Hat’ in public and in conversation (as I often love to) because I’ve recently started listening to quite a few Canadian bands — and they all fucking rip. Up now is Montreal’s Demon’s Claws. Again, I know, I’m fucking late on everything – but this is really just a case of ‘been-meaning-to-listen-to-forever-ugh’ but Demon’s Claws just released their second album, ‘The Defrosting Of…’ — which supposedly is supposed to finish with ‘Walt Disney’ but doesn’t for legal reasons? — which you can pick up from In The Red, came out at the beginning of October and I’m pretty enamoured with what I’ve heard so far. My favorite, off their new album, is a little gem called ‘Fucked on K‘ which is a really cool little twangy, country jam with plenty of grime and is all about drugs (obvi) — so it’s really damn good. I’ll post this some other time, but their split with the Black Lips covering the Rolling Stones is fucking awesome as well.
