introducing :: navajo bixby

I got my full dose of New Jersey hate when I was in New York last month, but NJ natives Navajo Bixby are kind of giving me a reason to champion that smelly little state. The latest offering from the band, ‘Down Under’, is their first new release in quite a while but the wait was definitely worth it. The song is a fucking summer jam that’s arrived too late – warm and undeniably beachy loops are the undercurrent for the summer/reverb soaked guitar. It’s rooted in 50s and 60s pop, but sounds ridiculously fresh and there’s something about the repitition that is really sweet and not annoying. Loving this Judd Hower’s kind of amorous vocals, too. Highly recommended.
