London’s Vaccines have seriously come right the fuck out of left field towards the end of the summer and are now going full swing to apparently take over the world. With their first 7″, Wrecking Bar (Ra Ra Ra)/Blow It Up will be seeing the light of day via Marshall Teller Records on Monday 29th November 2010. Both jams are pretty damn catchy, but the more I listen to the a-side, Wrecking Bar (Ra Ra Ra), the more I get infatuated with it. 1:24 seconds of bright, infectuous and very immediate melody greet you with kind of a muted joy. It’s nice. It’s reverb, and you know I love that shit. I’m not completely convinced by the Vaccines yet, although we all know how I adored Jay Jay Pistolet, but if you want to get into surfy/garagey stuff but don’t know where to start and/or want it to be as poppy as possible, then this might just be the band for you. They’re going out on a fairly huge UK tour to which you can see all the dates below, then look for them to head Stateside. Brightonites can catch them with me at Audio on November 15th.
