Rose Quartz turned us onto this little from Adelaide, and we couldn’t be happier. First of all, there’s a fuck ton of really rad Australia bands, and quite frankly, I want to hear more jams like this. Bitch Prefect, besides having an amazing name, are releasing their debut Marilyn Monroe/Holiday in America 7″ via RIP Society Records. ‘Holiday in America’, the b-side on said forthcoming single, is the best kind of lazy guitar pop – easy breezy, casual finesse and a wonderfully kind of off-tone voice singing lyrics about wanting to take a vacation in America, but more specifically, California? How can I not love this? In a perfect world, I would have this song on some sort of ‘chillax’ playlist where I can listen whilst laying in a day bed in the summer sipping a mimosa. Beat the winter blues (if you have them, we in California don’t. See why people want to come here?) with this.
