If you missed out on Happy Birthday in the year 2010, it’s not too late. They put out, hands down, the best Record Store Day 7″, Shampoo/Alien, which if you don’t have, presumably you can get from the next run of King Tuff shows or somewhere else, who knows. But they also put out my favorite album of 2010 via Sub Pop, Happy Birthday, which is filled to the brim with probably the best songs you have ever heard (Subliminal Message and my #2 song of the year, Perverted Girl).

On October 2nd (known to some as the greatest day — the birth of myself) they played the fanatastical Scion/Vice Garage Festival in Lawrence, Kansas. Although I wasn’t able to attend, I heard about the incredible craziness via some friends, and now Scion are releasing some beautifully shot footage of the bands that played. Happy Birthday sat down with Scion to talk about the band, Ruth/Kyle living together and Kyle’s weirdness. They also ran through mind-blowingly awesome (do you see King Tuff’s earring?) version of their classic “Girls FM” and the King Tuff penned, “Connection”. Check them all out below.
