Sometimes I forget that Australia is massive. And since I’m American, and therefore not taught proper geography in school, I’m quick to lump all Aussie bands together by location. That, or completely forget where anyone lives and thus I will say that if you’re into The Bleeding Knees Club and Wilde Child, you’ll love Brisbane duo-turned-trio Dune Rats. Now, we all know that garage rock should be at least most of the following things: sloppy, sweaty, drunken, catchy, and most importantly, fun. ‘Colour Television‘ is all of those things. Fast, filled with plenty of “oh-ohs”, and a little golden melody — it’s everything you look for in this kind of thing — which is what I’m always looking for. So, duh, I love it.
Their EP, Sexy Beach was self-released in February and obviously rules. You can pick it up for a mere $6 over at their bandcamp.
