Emerging out of ashes of The Japanese Motors comes Alex Knost with new partner Christina Kee’s new project. I liked his stuff in Japanese Motors fair enough — and have seen the Growlers open for them many a time, and seen them open for Black Lips a few times as well, so you know what the touchpoints for Tomorrows Tulips are going to be. Idyllic and as sugary as garage-pop comes, lead single ‘Eternally Teenage‘ off their forthcoming debut album of the same name, is probably the first in a never ending barrage of surf guitar, fuzzy, impossibly catchy songs that I will say are perfect for driving down Pacific Coast Highway to, so basically, you know it’s at least pretty good. And this is pretty good.
Eternally Teenage will be out on July 19th via Galaxia Records.
