I may or may not have mentioned that I’ve been getting into jazz quite a lot recently thanks to Ken Burns’ masterpiece Jazz which I would highly recommend if you have many hours to spare to educate yourself. Myself and my friend James are also really into vintage weed songs, preferably jazz songs. I recently came across a compilation released in 1966 called Refer Songs which is just that. Barney Bigard Sextet submitted one of my favorite tracks to this compilation. Barney Bigard was a big jazz dude back in the day playing lots with both Duke Ellington & Louis Armstrong. Sweet Marijuana Brown is a beautiful little stroll through the sunlight shining in the garden that laments the ‘get hip, take care, look out, beware of sweet marijuana brown’ so it pretty much is the best thing I’ve come across recently.
