France’s great Inch Allah Records banded together with Frantic City to release this split cassette featuring one of my favorite French bands (and possibly the most interesting band I saw live this year) Teenage Moonlight Borderliners. I’ve waxed poetic enough about their first two releases already, but I hope I always find myself digging their psychotic, deeply disturbed garage punk blues. Although most everything on this cassette is sinister, warped-pop songs drowned in shit and brought back to life, Daddy Needs Some Cash is straight up money. Distorted vocals, shouting and general tomfoolery permeate the warped and malignant riff — this is some seriously good stuff. Easy listening and layered complexities never worked so well together.
