Nu Rave Brain Wave

Shit, it’s December. That means the NYE shows are going to start rolling in, and although I already know where I’ll be (San Diego to see Heavy Hawaii with Crocodiles at Soda Bar!) this show is for sure tempting me to stay in Los Angeles.

NRBW long-time favorites, The Raveonettes, will be joined by Sharin’s baby daddy band, Autolux, who we also adore, for a special New Years Eve gig at the Standard in Hollywood. The event is strictly 21+, and while tickets are a steep $50, something tells me that this is going to be a worthwhile investment in your last day of 2010. Awesome.

This just in: Autolux has had to cancel their appearance for August 4th at Amoeba. There were scheduling conflicts, and it will be rescheduled at the end of their upcoming US Tour… They’re playing the El Rey on September 18th for all those that cannot wait! Autolux. Oh, Autolux! They’re finally returning after an extended break (when did we see them last, January 2009? and before that, June 2008?) to bring to our waiting ears, Transit Transit and to reward us for the wait, they’ve announced a FREE instore at the best record store in LA, Amoeba! They’ll be playing on August 4th at 7pm. Don’t miss this. They’re also returning in September for some shows you’d have to pay to see, but be a fool to miss:

Kevin Bronson says, ‘Could the long wait finally be over? I hear that L.A. art-rock trio Autolux is close to signing a deal and that the album “Transit Transit” will be released this summer. It would be the first album from Eugene Goreshter, Carla Azar and Greg Edwards since “Future Perfect” in 2004.’ I know we here at NRBW all hope so!
