JOHNNY MARR IS BUSY
Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009Johnny did a couple of interviews this week, obviously to promote ‘Ignore the Ignorant’ and I will now bring you some of the best quotes:
If the Smiths were to reform, it would have to be an amazing experience for everyone involved – from the band to the audience.
I can’t bear the thought of a Spandau Ballet-style comeback. What’s the point? Spandau are reforming, so they put on a big chicken-in-the-basket event, which is all they amounted to in the first place. Maybe someone should pay them £20 million not to reform. Supposedly we were offered $10 million to play a handful of Smiths gigs in 2007 and I wasn’t remotely tempted. I can’t speak for Morrissey, but I know that I’m too busy right now to get the Smiths on the road again. Is that likely to change? Who knows?

mp3 :: the cribs – we were aborted
Tuesday, July 7th, 2009
So the Cribs are waiting allll the way until September to release their new album with new Crib, Johnny Jarman. However, they showed a little mercy on us, and released the first track off the album, entitled “We Were Aborted” through their website. They are asking the fans to register for their mailing list, but if you don’t feel like doing that…. You’ve come to the right place. That’s right, here at NRBW, we do the digging and you reap the rewards.

I only listened to it once so I can’t give my full opinion. I liked it, because it’s a Cribs track, but it wasn’t all that …. new sounding and I didn’t hear that much Johnny. Hopefully, the rest of the album is not in the exact same vein.
J.Marr Speaks to NME about The Cribs
Friday, May 29th, 2009
Speaking of The Cribs’ currently-untitled new album, recorded in New York, Marr said: “It’s coming out on September 15, or 20 I think. And the single’s out on September 7.”
Marr may have meant September 14 or 21 – two Mondays in the month close to the dates he mentioned. He did not reveal the name of the single set for a September 7 release.
lol I like that NME are correcting Johnny when I’m pretty fucking positive that they’ve recorded in LA and are now mixing or are possibly done. But yeah.
O, I’m sorry but COLLECTIVE AWW PLEASE

Saturday, December 13th, 2008
Former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr has refused to be drawn on the subject of reforming his old band.
Rumours have been circulating all week that Morrissey and Marr have been speaking again and a reunion could be on the cards.
But the guitarist told BBC 6 Music that he hasn’t “really given it much thought”.
Marr also revealed that he has been mastering the forthcoming Smiths compilation, which is due out next month.
He added: “I think everyone was glad that I stepped up to the breach. I didn’t have to do it, it could have come out anyway – but I just felt like it was doing a disservice to the band and the people who were buying the records.
“Over the years there have been releases of the records and I wasn’t happy with the way they sounded. So I rolled my sleeves up and fixed that, and I’m pretty happy with the way that turned out.”

CRIBSMAS 2008
Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008
The Cribs are set to release a triple-disc DVD capturing their special 2007 ‘Cribsmas’ shows in Leeds.
‘Live At The Brudenell Social Club’, out on December 15, captures the band performing all their three albums – ‘The Cribs’, ‘The New Fellas’ and ‘Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever’ – plus B-sides, meaning that every song that they’ve recorded makes an appearance on the DVD.
The set also features interviews with musicians including Johnny Marr, who has since joined the band.
The band were supported by Franz Ferdinand, Kate Nash and Kaiser Chiefs over the course of the three evenings.
the smiths :: forgotten demo surfaces
Monday, October 13th, 2008
So I’m usually one of those hideous, annoying people who says shit like “I like the demo better!” or “The first album was better” or similar pretentious garbage. I also happen to be a demo fiend like, I have to have the demo if its available, I’ll search for days and days. This one is thanks to the Music Slut, and actually is not my favorite version of the song. I think maybe the Tate Session version of “Suffer Little Children” is much better. Regardless, I give you:
