I’m sorry but the term aughties makes me cringe, I wish we as a collective society could have picked something better. But I guess that’s beside the point.

Anyway, mad mad mad mad mad props to Bobby for mentioning The Growlers–he compared Brooks’ voice to a “wrecked pirate ship” and I have to say that is a perfect analysis. Also props for hating on Radiohead (a little).

Exciting! Those Soft Pack boys are smart cookies. Good Decision #1, leave San Diego, move to LA. Not that I don’t love San Diego, they have GREAT Mexican food and it’s fun to surf there. But the music scene? Desolate. Good Decision #2, play anywhere and everywhere. Take over The Echo. Take over houses in Downey. Take over Amoeba, take over Pershing Square, open for great bands, open for terrible bands, just play play play, make people listen. Obviously, this won’t work if your music is terrible or if you are Little Red Radio, but I repeat myself. The Soft Pack deserve this cover!
